The international charitable organization Parimatch Foundation – in peacetime focused on educational and sports projects for children - is gradually resuming them for young Ukrainians. The Foundation’s main target is to support the community by involving children in sports and physical activity. According to scientific studies, sports reduce stress symptoms and improve mental health.
As part of the “New physical education” program, the Foundation purchased 200 sports sets with advanced equipment for the Western regions of Ukraine that shelter internally displaced persons, including numerous children. Each set includes gear for sports like football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, chess, checkers, and darts.
Some of these sets were delivered to educational institutions of Khust and the Khust district of the Zakarpattia region. This district partnered with the Parimatch Foundation as a part of the Help to Ukraine program from the first days of the war. Zakarpattia hosts people from different parts of Ukraine who had to leave their homes.
Thanks to modern sports equipment, children can spend their leisure time actively when training. And because of the variety of equipment, everyone can choose the game they like the most.
The Parimatch Foundation’s “Help to Ukraine” program has been focused on helping evacuated children and providing people affected by the war with immediate needs: humanitarian and medical aid and psychological support. Currently, the Foundation has decided to gradually renew pre-war sports programs and create new projects to help speed up children’s mental and physical rehabilitation.
Children should have a bright life, receive a quality education, play sports, and stay completely safe. That is why the Parimatch Foundation keeps doing everything possible to provide children with equal opportunities and access to sports. Today, sport is an effective tool for overcoming stress and anxiety, providing quality leisure time and an atmosphere of joy, sports unite and help communicate with peers more often. In cooperation with local governmental institutions, we are ready to scale projects and programs and provide as many children as possible with our help and support. We are sure that our children will have a healthy and happy life! – the representative of the Foundation in Ukraine, Vadym Misiura, said.
Zakarpattia is one more region on the charity map of the Parimatch Foundation, which is ready to implement sports programs for children.
In pre-war, both sides intended to implement the Sports Mentor program in the region. For now, we are back with previous deals and ready to start training for children currently staying in shelters in the Khust district and for residents.
– We are glad that the Khust city community is the first in the Zakarpattia region to start cooperation with such a powerful charitable organization as the Parimatch Foundation. Now, more than ever, we have to do everything possible for children to feel happy and experience all the joys of childhood. The war takes our time and the most precious moments away, but we must take care of the children despite all this. And also provide them with equal access to education and comprehensive development programs. I am very grateful to the Foundation for its cooperation and assistance to the Khust community. Today we provided the necessary sports equipment to children in Kiresh, Steblivtsi, Kryva, and Khust. I would like to note that there are many IDPs with children in the region. And our primary goal is to make their life comfortable. I am sure it is just the beginning of our active and long-term cooperation with the Parimatch Foundation, which will grow into a true friendship.
– the Mayor of Khust Volodymyr Kaschuk said.
Sports Mentor is a comprehensive program that helps children, regardless of their social status, to develop self-confidence and physical and social skills through sports. Currently, the main goal of launching programs is to involve as many children as possible in sports, distract them from current events and help them recover psychologically.
We always remember that children are precious, and we must do everything possible to support them!
