Performance results 1st and 2nd quarter of 2023

Despite all the challenges and russia's ongoing war against Ukraine, in 2023 Kateryna Biloruska Foundation continues its main mission – to engage children in sports, physical activity, innovative education, and take care of their mental health. Since the beginning of the year, we have continued to work on our current programs and are ready to share the key results.

Mental Health. Psychological Assistance Program

It is a comprehensive Mental Health program aimed at helping Ukrainians affected by the war. The main goal of the program is to help each child overcome the trauma of war and cope with its consequences, find hope for a happy future, have a harmonious, healthy and happy childhood, which will subsequently affect the health of the future generation.

"Yes, I can!". Inclusive direction

One of the most important and priority areas for Kateryna Biloruska Foundation is the constant involvement of children with disabilities in physical activity and sports. "Yes, I Can!" program regularly offers free inclusive training sessions with qualified specialists. The Foundation systematically provides personalized scholarships to children with disabilities so that they can develop their potential and go in for sports. Since the beginning of 2023, 25 children from 14 regions of Ukraine have received them.

"New Physical Education". Holding the educational front

The comprehensive New Physical Education program is aimed at improving the skills of PE teachers to engage children in physical and motor activity.

Sports mentor. Introducing children to sports

Sports Mentor is a comprehensive program for children with different life circumstances. The main goal is to develop their physical and social skills through sports. Among the tasks is to overcome the tendency to anti-social behavior through interest in a healthy lifestyle.

Boost4Best and the B-RIGHT project. Cyprus

Program for the support and development of Olympic sports in Cyprus. The program's mission is to help talented teenagers with the main goal of participating in the Olympic Games and to recognize champions in the international sports community. The Foundation helps them focus on unlocking their sporting potential instead of solving financial issues.

We are very pleased with the success of our athletes. They have been able to gain recognition, medals, and experience in various national and international competitions. Among the recent successes of many of our athletes is participation in the 2023 European Small States Games in Malta, which took place from May 28 to June 3.

We also promote the B-RIGHT project in Cyprus. It aims to help all children and the community learn about their rights through simple basketball exercises that all children can master.

"Yes, I can!". Cyprus

One of the most important and priority areas for the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation is the continuous involvement of children with disabilities in physical activity and sports. Within the framework of this program in Cyprus, the Foundation develops coaching capacity in the inclusive field, provides systematic training for children with disabilities in various sports, including football, canoeing, and horseback riding.

Other activities of the Foundation

Q2

  • We set a national record for the largest all-Ukrainian online exercise by the number of participants for the World Health Day. The total number of participants who joined online is 114,533.
  • Since 2023, the Foundation has been supporting the Special Olympics of Ukraine and Cyprus and has ensured the participation of the national team and Cypriot athletes in the World Summer Games in Berlin.
  • For the first time in Ukraine, the B-RIGHT project was introduced. It aims to help all children without exception and the community learn about their rights through simple basketball exercises that can be mastered by all children without exception.
  • A number of activities were held for children from different cities of Ukraine and Cyprus to mark the Children’s Day. In particular, the children from the Sports Mentor and Yes, I Can programs attended an excursion to the Klitschko Museum, a cinema, and had lunch at KFC and McDonald’s. They also held an open inclusive basketball training session at the Kmytiv Special School in Zhytomyr Oblast.
  • In Cyprus, we held a basketball training session as part of the B-RIGHT children’s rights project and a horseback riding training session for children with disabilities.
  • We joined the Move Week. Throughout the week, sports events were held to promote movement and a healthy lifestyle. A total of 1442 participants from all over the country took part.
  • KB Foundation received an honorary award in the National Competition “Charitable Ukraine – 2022: Charity in Defense of Ukraine”.The Foundation became a laureate in the Charity in Culture and Arts nomination. The expert committee evaluated the foundation’s project under the Mental Health program – the first Ukrainian-language collection of therapeutic children’s audio stories “Secret Stories of Small and Big Victories”.

  • Kateryna Biloruska Foundation became the first charitable organization from Ukraine to speak at the  ISC International Sports Conference in London.
  • We have published the first printed Ukrainian-language collection of therapeutic fairy tales “Secret Stories of Small and Big Victories”. The project is aimed at supporting children affected by russian aggression.
  • An inclusive dodgeball training session was held at the Patriot Lyceum in Boryspil. The Foundation has also provided the lyceum with special equipment for inclusive classes.
  • On the occasion of the International Day of Sport for Peace and Development, the Foundation’s team launched a challenge to get children more involved in sports.

Each of our programs is aimed at making sports accessible to everyone, through using physical health to support mental health.
