International charitable organization Parimatch Foundation continues to implement its main mission to support society by involving children in sports, and physical and motor activity. This task became even more important in wartime since sports not only affect the physical development of children but also help in psychological rehabilitation. Sport distracts, and allows you to recharge emotionally and maintain a positive attitude to everyday life.

As part of the “New physical education” program, the Foundation purchased 200 sports sets with advanced equipment for the Western regions of Ukraine that shelter internally displaced persons, including numerous children. Each set includes gear for sports like football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, chess, checkers, and darts.

23 sports sets were delivered to the educational institutions of the Ternopil region, including those supported by the Parimatch Foundation since the beginning of the war as part of various humanitarian programs aimed at helping internally displaced persons.

– We received two batches of sports sets from the Parimatch Foundation. The first batch has already been transferred to educational institutions used as shelters for internally displaced persons, where the Foundation previously delivered humanitarian aid.

Another batch of sports equipment was delivered to educational institutions that organized school camps where IDP children and local schoolchildren spent time in June. Therefore, we are grateful to the Foundation for the constant support of our children and hope for continued fruitful cooperation on other projects as well, – said Olga Khoma, head of the Department of Education and Science of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, who is responsible for the distribution of sports equipment.

It is to be noted that the Ternopil region has become one of the key hubs for internally displaced persons. The Parimatch Foundation helped to arrange temporary shelters in the region, located in regional educational institutions. In March, the Foundation arranged 2,000 sleeping places there, and in April we delivered washing machines, sets of towels, and laptops to the institutions that housed the numerous internally displaced schoolchildren.

– Children should have a bright life, receive a quality education, play sports, and stay completely safe. That is why the Parimatch Foundation keeps doing everything possible to provide children with equal opportunities and access to sports. In cooperation with local governmental institutions, we are ready to scale projects and programs and provide as many children as possible with our help and support. – the representative of the Foundation in Ukraine, Vadym Misiura, said.

The Parimatch Foundation’s activity in the Ternopil region is not limited to humanitarian aid for basic needs. The Foundation also launched an educational course for IRC psychologists, which was attended by 30 specialists from the region. All of them are already actively working with internally displaced persons, both children, and adults. We would like to add that the «Psychological Support in Crisis» course was developed by experts of the Israeli Trauma Coalition.
