Parimatch Foundation responded to a request from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and provided additional humanitarian aid to educational institutions in the Ternopil region, which became temporary shelters for internally displaced persons.

Olga Khoma, the head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration’s Department of Education and Science, informed that more than 27,000 people have registered in the Ternopil region from hotspots across Ukraine since the beginning of the war. People are most often placed in educational institutions.

In March, the Parimatch Foundation arranged 2,000 sleeping places consisting of mattresses, pillows, blankets, and bed linen each, in the region. And today the Foundation sent 10 washing machines, 200 sets of towels, and 10 laptops to the Ternopil region. Olga Khoma thanked the Parimatch Foundation for their support, as the need for washing machines in humanitarian hubs is really urgent due to the many internally displaced persons in the region.

As for laptops, they have been transferred to three educational institutions, housing the largest number of school-age children who continue distance learning.

However, the Parimatch Foundation’s activities in the Ternopil region are not limited to humanitarian aid for basic needs. The Foundation is preparing to launch an educational course for psychologists on «Trauma of War» with the Israeli Trauma Coalition experts. After finishing the course, the psychologists will be able to provide counseling to children and adults affected by the war in Ukraine. In addition, the Foundation plans to supply sports equipment to the region to ensure equal learning opportunities and access to sports for all IDP children.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Parimatch Foundation – previously focused on educational and sports projects for children – has re-allocated all of its resources toward helping Ukrainian women and children survive the war and get to safety. To ensure the effectiveness of this decision, a few aid branches were created: financial aid and fundraising, humanitarian aid and medical needs establishing new partnerships to raise funds and sustaining the necessary projects of the Foundation.

Parimatch Foundation continues to arrange temporary housing areas for people who were forced to leave their homes due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Over 4,000 sleeping places bought by the Foundation were arranged in Western Ukraine.
