Women and children have always been the most vulnerable sections of the population and need special attention. Children ㅡ The future of any nation and their well-being, health, and happiness must be the number one priority. Any emergency, such as a pandemic or war, always harms women and their children first.

According to the Ministry of Social Policy, as of the end of March, 130,000 citizens had registered as IDPs. However, according to the International Organization for Migration, the figure is much higher, at around 6.5 million.

These people were forced to leave their homes and move to safer regions. Some ㅡ because they lost their own home, some ㅡ to get out of the occupied areas, and some ㅡ to find shelter in a safer place. However, the lion’s share of these people, namely mothers, went for this one goal – to save their children from war and provide them with a happy, carefree childhood.

Why is it important to provide humanitarian assistance to mothers with children in Ukraine?

Saving children from war and finding a haven ㅡ is not an easy task. However, it is even more difficult to start life from scratch in a new place without relatives, work, and any means of habitual existence.

That is why humanitarian aid to mothers and their children has become a priority for the Parimatch Foundation. In peacetime, the Foundation also cared about the next generation, involving children with disabilities and children from families in difficult circumstances in sports. The Foundation also implemented programs that supported talented young athletes on their path to success.

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, the Parimatch Foundation has changed the course of its activities and started providing humanitarian assistance to mothers and their children in Ukraine.

The Foundation has reallocated its resources to help Ukrainian women and children survive the war and stay safe. For greater efficiency, we have created several areas of resource allocation: financial assistance and fundraising, humanitarian aid for children and medical needs, finding new partnerships for fundraising, and supporting individual projects.
Since the beginning of the war, the Parimatch Foundation has helped the people of Ukraine in the Kyiv and Kyiv region and Volyn, Lviv, Ternopil Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv, Odesa, Kherson, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions.

The Foundation allocated more than half a million euros to help Ukraine during the war. It includes purchasing and delivering medicines, food, and funds to evacuate people from hotspots. Since February 24, the Parimatch Foundation has spent more than 510,000 euros to support people affected by the war. The Foundation used more than 190,000 euros to purchase humanitarian aid for mothers and children.

Continuing to help Ukrainians from vulnerable categories is the main task of the Parimatch Foundation. Ukrainian children are the future of the nation, and the lot of Ukraine depends on their well-being and happiness.
