This summer, five children from vulnerable backgrounds enjoyed four days of outdoor adventure at the Mountain Sports & Activities Summer Camp. Held from June 26–29 at Riverland Biofarm in Kampia, the initiative brought together 20 participants aged 9–14.
The project was made possible through a collaboration between the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation and Active Zone Outdoor. The Foundation fully funded five places, giving these children access to meaningful learning experiences, new friendships, and personal growth opportunities free of charge.
Throughout the camp, young participants immersed themselves in nature and disconnected from screens. They stepped out of their comfort zones through:
- rock climbing,
- kayaking,
- hiking,
- archery,
- boccia,
- orienteering.
Beyond sports, the children learned camp life skills, slept in tents, and joined workshops covering arts, crafts, music, and environmental education.
“Every child deserves access to opportunities that inspire growth, connection, and discovery, regardless of their circumstances,” said a representative of the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation. “Experiences like this build real resilience, empathy, and self-confidence. Seeing these young participants overcome personal challenges and build lasting friendships is why we remain deeply committed to supporting vulnerable youth.”
The emotional impact of the camp went far beyond physical activities. Participants learned the value of trust, teamwork, and mutual support. For many, the biggest achievement was finding inner confidence and realizing that differences bring people closer together.
The Kateryna Biloruska Foundation continues to support initiatives that empower children through sport, active lifestyle, and community engagement.
