Since the early days of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Parimatch Foundation has focused on supporting Ukrainians affected by the war. To that end, the Foundation initiated the «Help to Ukraine» program to provide the necessary humanitarian and medical aid, as well as psychological assistance to Ukrainian families with children.

More than 55,000 Ukrainians were provided with 50 tons of humanitarian aid, children could do sports and have summer vacations for physical and mental rehabilitation.

As part of the program, the Foundation upgrades the material and technical base of educational institutions in different regions of Ukraine, including transferring modern sports equipment and equipment for the implementation of educational initiatives.

Supported by the Kyiv Region Military Administration, Parimatch Foundation representatives visited the Hostomel Lyceum No. 1 and the children’s and youth creativity center of the Ivankiv settlement council in the Kyiv region. Both educational institutions suffered from the Russian occupation and are in dire need of restoration of the material and technical base as it is necessary to create conditions for the most complete and free development of student’s abilities.

It is to be noted, that 1500 students studied at Hostomel Lyceum No. 1 before the full-scale invasion. It is a modern educational institution with sports grounds, various sections, and development programs. Hostomel was under occupation from February 24 and an enemy headquarters was located on the territory of the lyceum, the lyceum building and the football field were damaged by shelling. The Lyceum building is currently being rebuilt after extensive damage. With the new academic year starting, about 300 children visit the lessons in the full-time format. The bomb shelters have been arranged here following the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The representatives of the Foundation met the director of Hostomel Lyceum No. 1 Volodymyr Zakhlyupany, attended the karate, taekwondo, and volleyball classes, and transferred sports equipment here. Namely, punching bags, exercise equipment, mats, equipment for martial arts and artistic gymnastics, fitness equipment, table tennis, as well as sports equipment and educational children’s games.

The children’s and youth creativity center of the Ivankiv settlement council is also resuming its work after it was used as a volunteer center where the Ukrainian military was based. Currently, the center is resuming the work of creative groups for 1,000 children.

The Foundation team met children studying in the center and delivered there some equipment namely a pottery wheel, easels, canvases, an educational skeleton, aprons, dance and theater costumes, developmental children’s games, and laptops.

Parimatch Foundation continues resuming Sports Mentor, Yes, I Can, and New Physical Education programs aimed at providing children with an opportunity to do sports and physical activity personal or in sports groups for children. The Foundation arranges educational institutions with sports equipment. It focuses its efforts on those regions and schools that will work in the full-time format and will be recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. As part of the New Physical Education program, Parimatch Foundation has already purchased 300 sports kits for over UAH 3 million, distributed among educational institutions in Ukraine.
