Girls from the FEM Community recently visited the iconic University of Cambridge for "Cambridge Empowerment Day"—an initiative designed not just as a typical sightseeing tour, but as an immersive experience to show young women what their future academic and personal paths could look like.
The intensive day-long program allowed participants aged 13–18 to explore legendary campuses, dive into the rich history of the colleges, and experience real student life. The schedule featured:
A welcoming session and introduction to the FEM Project at Cambridge Station.
An architectural and historical tour through King’s College, Trinity College, and the mathematical city.
An Empowerment Talk on the theme “Finding your voice & confidence” featuring a guest speaker who is a current Cambridge student.
An interactive workshop covering education and careers, focusing on studying in the UK, admissions processes, and scholarship opportunities.
Traditional Punting on the River Cam, providing a unique perspective of the colleges and famous alumni milestones.
By bridging the gap between big dreams and reality, the event transformed a place that once felt “so far away” into a tangible, achievable goal.
