This summer, the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation has supported three impactful sports initiatives under the patronage of the Nicosia Municipality and the Nicosia Municipal Foundation. Thanks to the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation’s contribution, over 350 children and adolescents will have monthly access to free sports activities within social care programs.
Since June, the following projects have been running:
- Multicultural Children Day Care Center (June – September)
- Children Day Care Centers (5 Summer Schools) (June – September)
- Open School – Fitness Classes for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (October – June)
These programs are designed for youth and adults, and children aged 5–12 from socially vulnerable groups – including children from low-income families, single-parent households, and those facing difficult life circumstances.
Recently, our team visited one of the locations where over 90 children were actively participating in training. We brought them fresh fruits and juices, spoke with the coaches, and had the opportunity to observe sessions in karate, dance, robotics, and basketball.
According to the coaches, without the Foundation’s support, these sports centers would not have been able to operate. Meaning many of these children would have missed the opportunity to train, grow, and simply enjoy in a safe and supportive environment.
At the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation, we believe that sport should be accessible to every child – regardless of their background, abilities, or family situation. We’re proud to be part of a change that brings movement, joy, and care into children’s lives.
