The devastating wildfires that struck Cyprus this summer left several regions severely affected, damaging homes, forests, and community infrastructure. In response, the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation has joined efforts to assist local communities and support recovery initiatives.
Supporting Fire Prevention and Safety Equipment
To help prevent future emergencies and strengthen community preparedness, the Foundation provided generators and water pumps for one of the villages most impacted by the fires. These devices are now being installed at the Community Council and will serve as a crucial resource for protecting the village, its residents, and especially the local school in case of future emergencies.
As the Community Leader emphasized:
“Generators and water pumps are essential equipment for fire prevention and emergency response. These devices will serve as a critical resource for safeguarding the village and the school and its children in the event of a fire or other emergency. Their installation marks a vital step in enhancing the community’s overall safety.”
Rebuilding Green Spaces Together
In addition to emergency support, the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation, together with the Enalian Law Firm, has taken patronage over the reforestation of one of the local parks. The cleanup and tree planting event will take place on 8 November, bringing together volunteers, community members, and partners to restore greenery and hope to the affected area.
At the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation, we believe that rebuilding after disaster is not only about recovery – it’s about strengthening resilience, unity, and care for the environment.
Stay tuned for updates as we continue supporting the affected communities and building a safer, greener future for all.
