Educators of the Kyiv region joined the comprehensive Parimatch Foundation program the «New Physical Education», which has been implemented by the Foundation for the third year in a row in Ukraine, supporting the expert potential of physical education teachers and equipping the material and technical base with modern sports equipment.
For the first time in the Kyiv region, a two-day workshop «Modern skills and practical cases of physical education teachers» was held for heads of local education authorities and physical education teachers of general secondary education institutions of Kyiv region. The event was held at the Shchaslyve Educational Lyceum.
It was organized by the international charitable foundation Parimatch Foundation and the State Scientific Institution «Institute of Education Content Modernization», the Committee on Physical Education and Sports of the MES of Ukraine, and the Kyiv Military Regional Administration.
The main event was dedicated to the presentation of the «New Physical Education» program as a key to community development, within which new models of physical education lessons in schools were proposed. The model program on new physical education is aimed at developing teaching skills.
Local education officials and physical education teachers attended training with useful content and practical component, and master classes on variable curriculum modules (rugby, frisbee, petanque, dodgeball, handball, and children’s athletics). As a part of the event, a seminar meeting with representatives of the sports and educational sector of the Kyiv region was held to discuss the state of physical culture and ways to improve the efficiency of the industry.
— This event is about changing stereotypes in teaching. The reform concerns new physical education – it is about children’s health. And here the role of the physical education teacher is important because it is up to him to change the style of teaching in the new modules, not just us at the meetings. It is necessary to put the child in the center of everything and move from there, – said Zhanna Osypenko, deputy head of the Kyiv Regional Department of Education.
25 educational ambassadors were selected among the participants of the seminar. They will continue additional in-depth training and after graduation will take part in the training of 1000 physical education teachers of the region under the Foundation’s program to make children more interested in lessons.
The Foundation also gave teachers 70 sports kits for innovative methods of work. Vadym Misyura, director of the representative office of the international charitable organization Parimatch Foundation in Ukraine, presented the program on active sports communities as a part of the «New Physical Education» program.
— The development of teachers without the introduction of innovations and practical consolidation of knowledge is almost impossible. And here it is also important to have tools, such as sports equipment, with which you can work and which is critically small today. Therefore, our Foundation provided 10% of schools in the Kyiv region with modern sports equipment for a total of UAH 897,000, which will improve the quality of education in the physical education sector. One set contains football, basketball, volleyball, and futsal balls, cones and training bibs, sets for badminton, checkers, chess and darts, coordination ladders, and frisbee. Thanks to cooperation with local authorities, we believe that in the next couple of years every school will be equipped with necessary sports equipment, primarily due to the inclusion of these programs in local budgets, — said Vadym Misyura. — For the first time, we jointly involve teachers and heads of community education departments in free information and educational training, which we conduct with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine within the framework of the memorandum of cooperation.
Despite the full-scale invasion, the children’s right to education is being ensured. Teachers are heroically holding the educational front, continuing to teach, develop and ensure the proper educational process. Parimatch Foundation with its partners will continue to actively support government initiatives and contribute to the education sector. The Foundation pays special attention to educational stuff, that is created to help teachers, educational managers, parents, and guardians master the necessary tools to help make physical education classes useful, interesting, inclusive, and effective for children.
It should be noted that the participants of the pilot project «Modern skills and practical cases of physical education teachers» were educators of the Rivne region. There were more than 60 physical education teachers of general secondary education institutions and employees of the Department of Education of Rivne region. The Foundation officially handed over sports equipment to 20 educational institutions in the region.

The «New Physical Education» program is aimed at improving the health and well-being of the country by providing children with equal opportunities for sports, as well as the development of physical education in schools through the training of physical education teachers.
As a part of the «New Physical Education» program, the Foundation has already purchased 500 sports kits for over UAH 5 million. Most of them have already been distributed among educational institutions of Ukraine in cities and villages that most needed help with equipment.
