Think back to the last time you saw children with disabilities on the streets of your city, in the subway, or in a sports club. Maybe you just avoid them or don't notice them? Or are services for people with disabilities underdeveloped or non-existent?
Unfortunately, in Ukraine, there are still stereotypes about children with disabilities and mental developmental disorders. Society is not always tolerant of them. Orphans and children from families in difficult life circumstances are also rejected by their peers and have certain stigmas and limitations. Therefore, often, they cannot fully engage in sports and study because they face barriers and lack of inclusiveness every day.
Imagine that such obstacles would no longer exist. This is the goal of every comprehensive systematic program of the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation – to overcome stereotypes and provide opportunities to increase the number of children involved in movement, physical activity and sports.
We strive to break down stereotypes that exist in society and create a world with equal opportunities for sports for children with disabilities and children from families in difficult life circumstances.
Innovative approaches to teaching will help to increase students' attendance at physical education classes at school. It will also create favorable conditions for children to practice more sports by attending after school activities.
We believe that physical exercise is an integral part of the full development of every child. In addition, it helps children to realize their potential and thus achieve success in life.
Unite the best experts in a community to solve social problems related to a child’s physical and mental health.
Through physical activities, children with special needs will not just get fit, but:
• will find new friends;
• earn to interact with others;
• be better integrated into society.
• have a better emotional state.
Thanks to the Foundation's assistance, children will have equal opportunities for access to sports, physical and social development.
Physical activity, sports, education and mental health care are important tools for children’s development. It becomes even more crucial for children with disabilities and special developmental needs, as well as for orphans and those from families in difficult life circumstances.
Our mission is to improve social health and well-being by ensuring equal rights and access to sports and innovative education to all children, thereby improving the health and well-being of the population and future generations.
